Very friendly and thorough. Walked me through my progress to date, next steps with physio and cleaned and redressed my incision area. Organised follow up the same day as well as sharing recommended physiotherapist for my wrist. Highly recommend.

I had a 10am appointment with Dr Mathew, he arrived at 10.05am. Unsure if punctuality is an issue. Based on the meeting I had with him he doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. He also seems keen to try and charge as much as possible from my health insurer with unnecessary appointments without resolving the issue at hand (pardon the pun).
Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear about your being upset with the level of care you have received. 1. I apologise for being 5 minutes late for your consultation. 2. Insurers pay a fixed rate and I can’t charge them more than that. 3. You had an investigation and have so far declined to make a follow up appointment to discuss the results and the recommendations of the radiologist who did your scan. 4, you have not responded to my email regarding 3 I am happy to engage in a conversation to resolve your concerns.

I broke both wrists following a nasty fall at a pool while travelling. Mr Mathew was very helpful in describing the various treatment options. I ultimately ended up having surgery on my right wrist. With respect to the surgery, Mr Mathews explained the risks. He listened to my concerns and tried to address all my questions. He is a skilled surgeon and provided good after care by ensuring I had good physical therapy, which has further helped my recovery.

I only had one session - privately - with Mr Mathew but he was extremely thorough and I had faith in his judgment. The subsequent letter covered all aspects of the problem with my hand. I am now seeing Mr Mathew via NHS.

The Doctors seems to be busy I can tell there a lot in his head and how can he consitrate on patient and could not find my diagnosis and just keeping going around and round. I belive is just money making that the way I felt as soon you finish u get an invoice and trying to give other appointments which are not necessary I still have pains will go abroad to find what is wrong with me. Also 2wice the doctor was late for almost 40min that is unexceptable and this private I felt there was class system. That is my honest feedback

Philip Matthew is a doctor I have known for many years, since I was a junior doctor at The Royal London Hospital in 2003. He was kind back then, hardworking and compassionate towards his patients. Fast forward 2 decades and he is the finished article, an excellent hand and wrist surgeon who leads teams, trains surgeons of the future and continues to treat patients to a high standard. I trust him to treat my own friends and family.
