Mr Prasad Patki is a full time Consultant Robotic Surgeon based in Central London. He is the Clinical Lead at the department of Urology at St. Bartholomew and The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. He is the Director and Lead surgeon of the Robotic Urological Surgery Programme at The Royal London Hospital. He also leads the renal cancer surgical pathway at The Royal London Hospital. He is a Specialist Renal Cancer Surgeon at the Specialist Centre for Renal Cancer (SCKC), Royal Free NHS Trust.
In addition to renal cancer, his interests include a wide spectrum of Robotic and Laparoscopic Renal Surgery including Robotic Pyeloplasty for benign kidney conditions like PUJ obstruction, renal cyst treatment etc, urological conditions such as diagnosis of Blood in Urine, Endourology, Urinary Stone Disease, Urological Cancer, Benign Prostate Enlargement, Bladder outflow symptoms and Overactive Bladder.
Mr Patki has undertaken research in fertility in spinal cord injury patients at the world famous London Spinal Injuries Centre at Stanmore in collaboration with The Imperial College London. He has published many scientific papers and invited reviews, letters and book chapters on variety of urological conditions.
Mr Patki completed his higher surgical training, achieving a Gold medal in Masters in Surgery. He was awarded the Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in General Surgery. He undertook speciality training in Urology leading to Diplomate of National Boards in Urology, followed by urological training at the North Thames London Deanery culminating in a fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons and The Intercollegiate Speciality Board in Urology. He is a Fellow of European Board of Urology.
Mr Patki is an honorary Lecturer at The Division of Surgery and Interventional Science UCL. He is a Faculty member of Chitra Sethia Laparoscopic & Robotic Training centre UCL. He is a founding member of Robotic Simulation Training Team involved in training in crisis management, communication and team working for robotic and laparoscopic surgical teams.
