Mr Raghubir Kankate is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience and training in all specialities of orthopaedics, with his main sub-speciality in foot, ankle and knee reconstructive surgery. He studied medicine and started his orthopaedic residency at the prestigious Grant Medical College in Bombay, where he trained in all specialities of orthopaedics with initial training focused on foot and ankle, paediatric and spinal surgery. After finishing his residency he was appointed as a lecturer.
Mr Kankate came to the UK in 1995 and undertook his residency again in London, completing his orthopaedics training in 2000. He then spent almost three years learning advances in knee surgery in Basingstoke and went on to work as a Senior Registrar in Bath where he mainly performed hip and knee surgery. He then undertook his foot and ankle fellowships in the USA before returning to the UK to work at the Bucks NHS Trust in 2005 where he is now posted.
