About

Mr Raymond Anakwe is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, Imperial College NHS Trust. He trained in orthopaedics in Edinburgh and South East Scotland and undertook subspecialist fellowships in hand, wrist and elbow surgery at the prestigious Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Wrightington Hospital. He was also awarded a highly competitive Winston Churchill Fellowship which allowed him to visit and train in upper limb and trauma surgery in internationally renowned centres around the world including Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg, the Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington, the Brooke Army Medical Centre in San Antonio and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Mr Anakwe sees patients with all kinds of hand, wrist and elbow conditions as well as other common general orthopaedic problems. He offers the full range of trauma and elective surgery services and he also holds military trauma experience since he is an army surgeon as well.

Mr Anakwe is actively involved in research and education. He is the Director of Medical Education at Imperial College NHS Trust and is responsible for the training of junior orthopaedic surgeons.
