Mr Grogan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Honorary Lecturer with over a decade's worth of experience within the field, specialising in hip and knee replacements. After gaining his medical qualifications from the University of Nottingham in 1992, Richard went on to complete sub-speciality fellowship training for arthroscopic knee surgery, hip replacement and resurfacing and knee replacement. His fellowship also focused on enhanced recovery, customised patient technology and computer navigation, for the latest interventions to improve patient outcomes. Richard completed his fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002.
After completing his fellowship and postgraduate diploma at the University of Leeds, he was appointed his Consultant post at Bradford Infirmary in 2005, where he has since become Clinical Lead, performing thousands of hip and knee replacements. Mr Grogan's surgeries are of the highest standard, with data showing high excellent outcomes and recovery rates. Richard has since been appointed Clinical Governance Lead at the Yorkshire Clinic and Clinical Director of Orthopaedics at the Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust, where he maintains the management of trauma patients showing his dedication to the field. Mr Grogan also supervises and mentors undergraduate medical students and surgical trainees, under his role s Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leeds.

Mr Grogan has been first class I have had both knee and hip surgery and the work he has done has been superb

From consultation to being discharged, every stage was explained and executed professionally.

After my 1st consultation with Mr grogan my mind was totally at ease .Mr grogan explained about my hips and advised me on my options I knew I was 100% in safe hands .

I have recommended Mr Grogan to anyone who needs treatment to their knee. That should say it all.

Mr Grogan explained everything very well and exudes confidence, which is not arrogance, he is without doubt a leader in the field, my both hips where replaced with minimal scarring and not complications, infections or other complications. Mr Grogan makes the complicated and difficult appear mundane and common-place - the sign of a true expert.

All very good and he kept me relaxed for the whole operation. Has been very good at every appointment.

Mr Grogan in my opinion has all the qualities of a consultant should have, consideration of the patients needs, looked after before and after your operation, and ofcourse his bedside manner, simply the best

I can’t praise Mr Grogan?and his team enough! My new hip and 100% mobility has taken years off me. I can now sit cross legged on my yoga mat , run up the stairs and ride my bike completely pain free and with ease! The whole experience had been wonderful!
