Mr Richard Sheridan is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist from London, UK.

Mr Sheridan qualified from Guy's Hospital Medical School in 1979. He then went on to train in Southampton, at Queen Charlotte's Maternity Hospital and then as a registrar and senior registrar at Guy's and at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington. In 2015 Mr Sheridan left Watford General Hospital after spending 24 years there as a Consultant and is an examiner for the final membership examination of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Mr Sheridan has a busy private obstetric and gynaecological practice. His private office and secretary are based at Spire Bushey Hospital, where gynaecological in-patients are admitted and gynaecological outpatient appointments and early pregnancy scanning take place. He also has an antenatal clinic at Centennial Medical Care in Elstree in Hertfordshire which is approved and registered by the Care Quality Commission. This unique clinic is the first private facility licensed to provide Maternity & Midwifery services outside of Central London. Traditionally women who wish to have their babies privately have to travel into their chosen Central London hospital for antenatal care however with this unique accreditation, women from Hertfordshire, North London and further afield now have access to a local antenatal service.

Deliveries take place in the Sainsbury Wing at the prestigious Hammersmith Hospital/Queen Charlotte's Maternity Hospital site, with post natal care on Sir Stanley Clayton Ward. For more information please read: Mr Richard Sheridan: first CQC Accredited Obstetrician to Practice outside Central London

Unusually, for an Obstetrician, he works alongside Sarah Denning, an experienced midwife, practising together as The Birth Team (thebirthteam.com) offering all aspects of care during pregnancy and delivery.

In his NHS clinics he was involved in the care of high-risk pregnant women with medical conditions and endocrine problems, as well as other complications of pregnancy. His role included fetal scanning and amniocentesis. With over 20 years experience of labour ward management, he spent time regularly on the labour ward teaching junior doctors how to manage difficult or complicated deliveries.

He is a general gynaecologist, doubly qualified, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of London. He performs open abdominal surgery, vaginal surgery and keyhole surgery for heavy periods, fibroids, cysts, prolapse and incontinence. He has a large hormone replacement therapy practice and has interests in premenstrual syndrome as well as the menopause.

A wonderful professional. Great interpersonal skills with a holistic approach to patient care. One in a million gynae ‘s from start to end of my patient experience. Excellent comprehensive follow up throughout before and after surgery, as well as being a top surgical pro. So grateful for the care and attention I received. Keep up the great work and good humour.

A fantastic doctor, who is knowledgable, friendly, professional and carried out my surgery swiftly and efficiently. I can not recommend Dr Sheridan highly enough. Dr Sheridan was a breath of fresh air, giving me clear and concise answers to my questions. He was able to explain the complexity of my situation in language that I understood and in a kind and professional manner. He was both open and upfront about the costs associated with the surgery that I required, and the fact that I may have required two surgeries depending on how I had healed. Following my initial consultation I felt that I had full confidence in Dr Sheridan and choose to self-fund my surgery. I am eternally grateful to Dr Sheridan for his excellent work. Thank you.

Where do I begin?! My experience with Mr. Sheridan and his team was an absolute pleasure from the moment I found out I was pregnant. Being from NYC and having my first child in another country was a very scary moment for me. I had no idea what to expect on how things go in the UK when expecting a child. I knew i wanted to go private but had no idea with who...until I found Mr. Sheridan and Midwife, Sarah. Mr. Sheridan truly made me feel well-looked after and was always available when I needed him. From my first visit with Mr. Sheridan to the last (day of my cesarean) I knew I was in the best hands and he was going to take care of me...and he did. To add to his professionalism, Mr. Sheridan's personality and sense of humor always put me at ease. It was relaxing to have a doctor telling you jokes right before surgery. It just made the atmosphere so much more enjoyable. Thank you, Mr. Sheridan and The Birth Team for making my pregnancy one that I will never forget.

I have just recently had my second child, both under Richard’s care. He offers a relaxed environment where you have 24 hour contact with a dedicated midwife should you need it. I have always felt safe and secure under his care. Both deliveries have been c sections (one emergency) and his after care is second to non. I would have no hesitation in recommending Richard and his care package to anyone.

I have been looked after by Mr Sheridan for over 22 years and he has seen me through the birth of my three children and various gyny procedures. Mr Sheridan has always put my mind at ease and never once did he make me feel I was asking too many questions or worrying unnecessarily. Always has put my mind at rest and his care, experience, kindness and empathy at times when needed has been outstanding. The loveliest man and I wish him continued success always xxxx

Richard is superb. He delivered both of my children and each labour and birth was completely stress-free thanks to him. If I have any more children I will be rushing back to Richard.

Mr Sheridan was our obstetrician throughout all of my pregnancy and for delivery. From the first appointment, he made us feel comfortable, in safe hands and ensured we understood each step of the pregnancy and then also during labour. I could not recommend him and Sarah Denning (midwife) enough. They went above and beyond. We are extremely grateful to have had them during this time.

I can not recommend Mr Sheridan enough! I have him to thank for my beautiful baby boy who was delivered safely. Mr Sheridan’s care was second to none - such a lovely person and more importantly a safe and professional surgeon.

Mr Richard Sheridan has delivered all 4 of my babies and I have had the most wonderful experience he has looked after us all so well and I have felt so safe and cared for and I am very grateful for the care I received

I have had Mr Sheridan for ante natal care and delivery of two of my children and the care I received was excellent. He was always patient, answered any questions I had and made me laugh! My deliveries were very calm and I actually enjoyed giving birth. I would highly recommend Mr Sheridan.

Mr Sheridan is absolutely fantastic! My husband and I could not recommend him highly enough. He shows the utmost professionalism and is extremely honest which we valued highly. He especially calmed me down in a couple of testing situations in the late stage of my pregnancy and when needing a C section. Sarah Denning who he works alongside is also phenomenal. Their personal care is second to none. Any issue big or small they were both at the end of the phone for.

I’ve been to Dr Sheridan for both of my two children - the first resulted in an emergency cesarian and the second was planned. From my very first appointment he made me feel at ease and comfortable, and there wasn’t a moment where I ever felt nervous or unprepared under his care. As a high risk patient who had a few complications (such as kidney stones) Dr Sheridan personally called me up to three times a day for a few days just to check in and see how I was feeling. Both deliveries (although the first was an emergency) were trauma and stress free and I would - and have- recommended him to anyone looking for an OB. He goes above and beyond the call of duty and is a first class medical practitioner.

He was absolutely fantastic! I would definitely recommend him. My wife has a medical phobia, and Mr Sheridan made her feel at ease from the moment he met her. No other healthcare professional has been able to do that before.
