About

Richard is an experienced Osteopath based in London. He has over 35 years' experience in his field. Richard graduated from the from the British School of Osteopathy in 1979 and took up a position as an assistant in Cumberland Mansions soon after qualifying. In 1996 he took over the running of the practice and renamed it the Seymour Practice. He has worked relentlessly since to expand the range of therapies available, building on the existing osteopathic principles that had been developed over a 79 year period at Cumberland Mansions. He also introduced the Osteopathic Emergency Service which is providing emergency osteopathic cover for London and the Home Counties.

Though his practice is based on classical osteopathic methodology and covers all the main musculo-skeletal problems and injuries he has also developed a specialism in cervical (neck) and upper dorsal (upper back) problems and injuries. Many of these symptoms are caused by sitting for long hours in front of computers combined with a lack of exercise, Early intervention and treatment as well as some simple lifestyle changes can drastically improve these symptoms.

Richard believes that most of the symptoms his patients experience can be resolved without resorting to intervention by surgery.

Very glad that I made the choice to see Richard for my back-pain. He explains the underlying problem very well & seeks to get to the root causes of pain rather just providing a treatment. Highly recommended.

Richard has saved me many times over the years - a top osteopath with a gentle manner and he always remembers past ailments! I wouldn't hasten to recommend him - the most important fact is that I trust him. Happy to have a phone conversation with anyone looking for a new osteopath and wants more information.

Richard is truely expert in his profession. I really feel the difference after receiving osteopathy from him. I first visited his practice in 2013 and after recent back problems, having kept his card, was pleased to be able to benefit again. Highly recommended!!! Emma A

I saw Richard due to lower back pain, that had occurred over a weekend. Richard asked me a lot of questions prior to any treatment and to assess the problem fully. He managed to treat the problem and make me feel better for my 1st wedding anniversary celebrations that evening. He also gave me thorough advice for the days ahead (keep moving and adding heat). I have another session with Richard in a few days. I couldn't have asked for a better experience or treatment.

Really great treatment. Sorted my back pain out quickly, with a minimum of fuss. Would certainly recommend osteopathy to anyone with any kind of pain!
