Mr Rob Carter qualified from University of Edinburgh in 1997. He is currently a Consultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon who has completed his basic and speciality training in orthopaedic surgery in Ediburgh, Cardiff and Glasgow. Additionally, he also completed European Fellowship placements in Vienna, Bordeaux and Zurich. 

Mr Carter has a particular interest in modern foot and ankle tehcniques such as joint replacements (ankle and great toe) and bunion (hallux valgus) correction with compression screws, avoiding the requirement of post-operative plaster cast immobilisation. He also carries out traditional orthopaedic surgery such as complex hindfoot deformity correction and ankle fusions.

He is currently a team doctor for a Magners league professional rugby team, regularly treating sports-related foot and ankle injuries, such as ankle ligament reconstruction, Achilles tendon problems and plantar fasciitis.
