Mr Velayudham carried out hip resurfacing surgery for me. In the initial consultation he explained my options to me and allowed me time to consider them by arranging a further consultation, also inviting and answering any questions I had. The surgery has been successful and I have been pain free following my recovery.

Mr Velayudham was clear and very positive in explaining to me at my first consultation appointment, the process and the recovery period to my hip replacement. and at that appointment gave me a lot of confidence. From my procedure day, to returning home after just 24 hours, I was scared but amazed at my recovery. All exactly as Mr Velayudham had stated it would be. I obviously played my part in doing all the recovery exercises as recommended, unbelievably I was back to my normal life routines within 3 months.

Mr Velayudham, did an absolutely brilliant job on my hip. I saw the xray after and he couldn't have fitted it any better. Both he and all the staff at the Horder Centre were very good at what they do. Thanks for all your help. It's great to ge walking normally once more.

From our first meeting I was put at ease. Mr Velayudham took a real interest in my many questions and was very patient and kind, and all with good humour. I had both hips replaced about 18 months apart and am so glad that “Mr V” was my surgeon. I was in very good hands.

Mr Velayudham was very helpful at explaining how bad my hip was & I think he knew how stressed I was at having this operation. He certainly eased my nerves with going ahead with this procedure. Very difficult to thank him enough as the operation was pain free & now I’m enjoying a few weeks in Spain 8 weeks after my operation. Kind regards Steve C

After three years of severe pain in my hip, Mr Velayudham was the first professional to provide a lasting solution. He offered to replace my hip joint and immediately scheduled the operation – which was a complete and resounding success. My recovery has been swift and issue free. I feel indebted to him for his care; he has enabled me to live a normal life again.

Mr Velayudham was highly recommended to me re hip replacements by two people within my vicinity. Following surgery I was surprised by the lack of pain/ discomfort experienced. I was discharged from hospital after an overnight stay. Three months later and I am very happy with my new hip. And enjoying playing tennis again - without the limp! I know that my other hip is also deteriorating. I very much hope that Mr V will be available to operate again when the time comes.

Mr Velayudham clearly and simply explained the procedure and answered all my questions. My hip is now back to how it was 20 years before any arthritis and I’m back doing sport again! Thanks for doing such a great job and thanks to all the staff at the Nuffield hospital.
