Mr Shadli Ghali owes much of his clinical recognition to his cosmetic training—his initial training took place at Akademikliniken in Stockholm, Sweden. He trained under the world famous cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Per Heden. His medical practice takes a holistic approach to the patient’s cosmetic needs.
Following completion of his Microvascular reconstruction fellowship at MD Anderson in Houston, Mr Ghali is keen to continue working and developing his interest in complex oncological reconstruction. The fellowship introduced him to a multidisciplinary approach to cancer patients and allowed him to work closely with other surgical disciplines.
Mr Ghali hopes to develop surgical lymphoedema management at the Royal Free Hospital with the introduction of microvascular lymphaticovenous bypass procedures to complement the vascular service and breast reconstruction service.
A proponent of consistently improving one's medical knowledge, Mr Ghali is currently on the teaching faculty of the UCL MSc Plastic Surgery program based at the Royal Free and is responsible for organizing and delivering Panthames teaching to Plastic Surgery trainees. He is also involved in weekly Journal club and teaching of trainees at the Royal Free hospital.
