Mr Shah Punwar is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Torquay, UK.
Following his graduation from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2001 he went on to undertake his basic surgical training in Kent and the London region before completing his specialist orthopaedic training on the prestigious Bristol rotation.
Mr Punwar undertook a year of complex arthroplasty and sport injury training in Perth, Western Australia before returning to the UK and being appointed as a Consultant Trauma Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Mr Punwar has been listed on the General Medical Council's specialist register since July 2014. He is also a GMC recognised educational trainer responsible for instructing the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
Mr Punwar's main areas of expertise are Knee and Hip arthroplasty as well as knee ligament injuries. He maintains an interest in lower limb sports related injuries as well as all aspects of general orthopaedic trauma.
Mr Punwar is the Honorary Secretary of the South West Orthopaedic Club (SWOC) which is one of the oldest orthopaedic clubs in the country, having been started in 1948. He helps organise 2 academic meetings a year attended by approximately 80 Orthopaedic surgeons from around the South West region. He also runs the SWOC website.
