Mr Shahzad Raja is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with specialist experience in surgical myocardial revascularization, aortic valve and aortovascular surgery. Mr Raja is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of Intercollegiate Board in Cardiothoracic Surgery.


After graduating with honours from King Edward Medical College & Punjab University in 1996, Mr Raja trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery paying special interest to myocardial revascularization and aortovascular surgery. He undertook his specialist training at Glasgow University Hospitals, Harefield Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. At the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust, Mr Raja performs the highest number of coronary artery bypass surgery operations.


Mr Raja has authored many articles, editorials and book chapters which have been published in peer reviewed papers. Additionally he is actively involved in medical education, teaching and supervising both undergraduates and postgraduates.
