Dr Shane Roche is a general physician with 20 years of valuable experience. His incredible competence in providing excellent care has placed him on the list of the top 250 consultants in the UK.
He qualified in Dublin in 1980 and moved to London in 1985 to complete his training at Charing Cross, St Mary’s Hospital and Central Middlesex. He currently works as a consultant at both St Mary’s and the Hammersmith Hospitals, which are part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. In addition to his hospital posts, he is also in charge of a Community Rehabilitation unit for older people. Dr Roche specialises in the care of elderly patients and he is considered an expert in dealing with patients with very complex needs.
He has an active role in the research community, as he is the author of numerous published articles especially on Parkinson’s and Dementia. Due to his extensive knowledge on these topics he gives lectures on such conditions, including other common conditions affecting the elderly population such as hypertension, stroke and heart failure.
His aim is to achieve a smooth patient pathway and he is thus very efficient in communicating very quickly with GPs and other health care professionals, resulting in successful treatment.
