Mr Syam Morapudi is a highly-esteemed Orthopaedic Consultant with a special interest in osteotomy surgery to realign the leg in young patients with knee arthritis. He has performed high numbers of arthroplasty surgeries with excellent results and feedback from patients.
He has been an orthopaedic surgeon in Macclesfield for many years, qualifying in India at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, which is a highly respected medical institute. Whilst in India he worked in rural settings in a mission hospital for three years, after which he gained experience in cardiac ICU. He undertook his Trauma and Orthopaedic training in the north-west of the UK and completed his specialist qualification - FRCS in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery.
Following this, he completed two fellowships for a period of 18months in Melbourne in primary, complex and revision hip and knee replacement, soft-tissue reconstruction of the knee, and complex trauma.
Mr Morapudi has been independently performing joint replacement surgery since 2008.
Mr Syam Morapudi's research interests include clinical outcomes in patients with a metal-on-metal hip replacement, along with looking at natural remedies for patients suffering from arthritis.

I had a very good experience with Mr Morapudi from our first meeting for my left knee till my last meeting for my right knee, all done within 12 months, thank you. He explained the procedure to me and how long it would take to recover from what he said is a major operation, this prepared me for both knees especially knowing what to expect with the second operation.

Very helpful in the hospital and on the phone for advise. always explained the operation and illustrated the ex rays. Bed side visits when I was in a lot of pain. Great after operation appointments.

I found Mr Morapudi to be very welcoming, and considerate when I met him for my first consultation. He was rigorous but sympathetic when checking my hip mobility and explained what and how my remedial treatment would be. When I then met him at Spire Macclesfield he again explained how the procedure would be implemented. Then again after the operation and during my first post-Op meeting to establish how I was progressing. I never had any worries or concerns and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mr Morapudi if anyone questions my opinion on how my care was provided and detailed. A great experience for me. So thankful for this new life of mine. A perfect gentleman who explained the whole process of a hip replacement in simple words....No more pain I can now enjoy life again, 10 days of real care and then everyday was a day of improvement, after 5 weeks no more crutches, just as he said.
