About

Mr Tariq Ahmad is a leading Consultant Plastic Surgeon based in Cambridge. After studying medicine at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities, he taught anatomy prior to undertaking his general surgery training.

Mr Ahmad then specialised in plastic surgery and also trained in the subspecialty of cleft lip and palate surgery. He offers the full range of cosmetic surgery procedures for the face, breasts and body.

Mr Ahmad was appointed to consultant in 1997 and his wide breadth of training allowed him to practice as a Consultant in head, neck cancer, breast reconstruction, hand surgery, skin laser as well as cleft lip and palate. Mr Ahmad was invited to join (and is at present) a primary surgeon with the supraregional cleft team in Cambridge.

I found Mr Ahmad very easy to talk to regarding my condition. He explained the different treatment options at the initial consultation and we discussed these in detail and decided on a course of action to take. Treatment was carried out very well with any questions answered fully. Mr Ahmed and the staff at CCB were all very pleasant and professional.

Mr. Ahmad has been wonderful through every treatment I’ve had. He has an excellent bedside manner and made me feel comfortable the entire time. He is extremely thorough and explains the procedure so you will have realistic expectation of what to expect from your treatment. I live stateside and I fly back to Cambridge just to have Mr. Ahmad work on me. He is a surgeon I definitely trust.

It took me over ten years to actually make an appointment, I had researched many alternatives and finally decided to choose Dr Ahmad on the basis of his awards, his qualifications and reviews. I was not disappointed and feel very confident in his expert level of skill in this area. He communicates clearly, with sensitivity and humour and he and all his staff are a real pleasure to deal with. The results so far have increased my confidence in trying new procedures and I will continue to return!

For some time I had a large Ganglion on my left wrist; Mr Tariq Ahmad surgically removed it. The procedure was carried out at his aesthetic clinic, which is conveniently situated just a two-minute walk from the Shelford Railway Station and gives easy access from the London Liverpool Street Station to Cambridge. This Ganglion was causing numbness and loss of feeling in the thumb and joint below the thumb. This Ganglion was very deep and took time to be removed, but the operation was a complete success and the thumb returned to normal very soon after the operation. Subsequently a second visit was made to the clinic for a smaller unconnected Ganglion to be removed from the thumb knuckle joint; this was done by aspiration; this small Ganglion has not returned.
