Mr Thomas Ressiniotis is a highly experienced and esteemed consultant ophthalmologist at Midland Eye specialising in cataract and glaucoma surgery for over a decade. He currently serves as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads the glaucoma service at Good Hope Hospital. With a focus on excellence, he offers a comprehensive glaucoma and cataract service, utilising the latest advancements in laser and surgical management for complex glaucoma cases.

Mr Ressiniotis is well-versed in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery techniques, ensuring safe and effective glaucoma management. His expertise also extends to modern small incision cataract surgery, incorporating state-of-the-art intraocular lens implants to enhance patient outcomes.

Having completed specialist training in Newcastle upon Tyne, he further honed his skills during a two-year Fellowship in Glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. This experience provided him with advanced clinical and surgical proficiency in managing complex glaucoma and cataract cases.

Throughout his training, Mr Ressiniotis developed a keen interest in glaucoma and cataract surgery, fuelled by clinical exposure, research, and teaching. His dedication to advancing knowledge in the field led to the award of the Higher Degree of Doctor of Medicine from Newcastle University in 2007, recognising his research in Glaucoma Genetics.

Beyond his clinical practice, Mr Ressiniotis is passionate about teaching and currently serves as the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Tutor for trainees in Solihull, Heartlands, and Good Hope Hospitals. His commitment to education ensures the next generation of ophthalmologists receives exceptional training and guidance.
