Mr Toufan Bahrami is an experienced Consultant Cardiac Surgeon based at Harefield Hospital.
Mr Bahrami graduated from the Pitie-Salpetriere University in Paris in 2000. He went on to train in France and the UK under the guidance of 3 renowned cardiac surgeons: Professor Alain Carpentier, Sir Professor Magdi Yacoub and Professor Alain Cabrol. Prior to his current post, he has worked as a Consultant at 3 London NHS trusts. He has been based at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals since 2001.
Mr Bahrami is a pioneer of endoscopic heart surgeries which are minimally invasive procedures. He also performs minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafts. This technique offers the patient less injury, a shorter stay in the hospital, quicker recovery time and a smaller scar.
Mr Bahrami has extensively published in peer-reviewed research journals on transplantation and valve repair.
