Mr Trevor Lawrence is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon currently practising in the UK.

Mr Lawrence graduated in 1986 from Edinburgh University in 1986. Since then he has worked at the finest orthopaedic centres in the UK, including Wrightington Hospital where the pioneering hip replacement work by Sir John Charnley was undertaken and Exeter, where major advances in hip design and surgical technique were made. Throughout his professional career, Mr Lawrence has been improving on the techniques learnt at these centres. Mr Lawrence spent one year at The University of Virginia, Charlottesville USA as a surgical and research fellow.

Mr Lawrence has an outstanding track record for hip replacement and knee replacement surgery. According to the National Joint Registry, his revision rate for hip replacement and knee replacement is much better than the National Average. He specialises in complex surgeries in young patients and difficult revision operations.

He has been operating as a consultant since 1999 and has undertaken almost 2000 primary hip replacements and 600 revision hip surgeries and almost 1000 knee replacements. Mr Lawrence specialises in young patients with poorly formed hips and he reconstructs the hip joints with bone grafting. Mr. Lawrence has frequently referred patients with hip replacements complicated by fractures, infections, dislocations, and bone damage.

Mr Lawrence's outcomes, according to the National Joint Registry, are excellent for both hip and knee replacement. He achieves a revision rate 1/4th of the National average for hip replacement. As the patients get younger, the results get even better. For Knee Replacement, his revision rate is 1/3rd the national average.
