I found Mr Cross to be an excellent specialist throughout my period of consultation, MRI scan, biopsy and results. He explained the symptoms, options, procedures and results in a very clear and reassuring way. He also coordinated the necessary appointments with other specialists and reported to my own GP in a very efficient and timely manner

I was referred to Mr. Cross a worried man. Who is not worried when faced with a diagnosis of prostate cancer? But having elected for a radical prostatectomy, I was very fortunate to be recommended to Bill Cross and his team at the Leeds General Infirmary. From first consultation to the present (some 6 months post operation) Bill and his team have been truly excellent. They have guided me through a threatening time in my life with care, grace, humanity - and great skill. I think anyone else who comes into their hands will be a very lucky man indeed.

Very kind, caring and approachable. My operation and aftercare have been carried out to the highest standard possible. Highly recommended.

I consulted with Bill Cross following his Movember Campaign 2014 presentation at my workplace, and particularly liked his focus on thorough data gathering which progressively and logically led me towards making an informed decision for a radical prostatectomy the following year. I would recommend anybody confounded by the treatment options for prostate cancer and who is seeking an assured and competent professional in the field, or purely to gain a second opinion, to consider meeting Bill.

My first appointment with Mr Cross was in May 2014 following which I was diagnosed with PT3a PNO Gleason 7 prostate cancer. I had a Robotic radical retropubic prostatectomy in August 2014. The operation left vey minor scarring and minimal discomfort. My PSA has now reduced to 0.016 which is fantastic. Throughout the 3 years Mr Cross has been incredibly informative and has thoroughly explained every aspect of my treatment in a very kind and caring manner. I would highly recommended Mr Cross and have already done so to friends.

Very professional and reassuring. Hopefully won't be needing his services again, and have been managed (hopefully) with medication, but if symptoms persist / increase I would be asking to see Mr Cross again. He set me completely at my ease and took time to explain the mechanics of the symptoms and options available to me. Recommended.

Above all else Bill Cross is a fine man. As a Consultant Urologist he is at the top of his game - indeed my feeling is that he is probably a leading figure in the U.K. in his field of expertise. Behind his self effacing demeanour he is without doubt an highly intelligent and skilled physician. He is an innovator and an incredibly knowledgeable individual who is fascinated by, and who loves his work. Many people with a high level of intelligence and a specialist knowledge struggle to interact with those who are less clever or knowledgeable. Not so with Bill. He is personable and interacts with his patients easily, making complex information readily understandable. He does all of this with humour and patience. I consider myself blessed having discharged myself from one consultant and then transferring my care to Bill. It is almost certainly one of the best decisions I have made in my life and it is highly probable that I owe something of my future to this gentleman. Bill Cross fully deserves all the plaudits I can offer and more besides. Quite simply he is outstanding in all respects - I admire him, respect him and stand in awe of what he brings to his profession.

I was referred to Mr Cross in September 2016 with suspected prostate cancer. After various tests and reviews I elected to have my prostate removed by Mr Cross using the Da Vinci robotic procedure.Mr Cross explained the procedure. the side effects and the possible outcomes in detail and with great care. I had my operation in late November and was discharged to home after two days with a catheter that was removed after 10 days. From that date the side effects (incontinence and erectile dysfunction) have been minimal and short lived. Six months later my life is just about back to normal, I am continent and have erectile function and my PSA is undetectable. I put all of the above down to the skill of Mr Cross and I cannot praise him enough. His after care is to the same high standard as his surgical skills. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who is facing the prospect of having surgery for prostate cancer

I recently had a follow up consultation with Mr Cross at the Nuffield hospital in leeds, concerning an enlarged prostate. I found Mr Cross to be a very easy and receptive person which which to discuss what might be considered a delicate problem. I felt that he gave me lots of time and opportunity to ask any questions I might have, although he was so knowledgeable and perceptive, he was able to anticipate most of my concerns. I am totally satisfied that the treatment I have had, could not have been any better. I feel after my consultation, and subsequent treatment with Mr Cross, much more reassured and confident about the future. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
