Mr William Dunnet is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. He completed basic medical training at Cambridge University Medical School and Guy's Hospital, developing an interest in knee surgery during general training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, and King's College Hospital, London.
Following his general orthopaedic training, he spent a year in Australia studying at the Institute of Orthopaedics in Melbourne and the North Sydney Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Centre which specialises in reconstructive and replacement surgery of the knee. It was there that he also worked with several professional Australian Rules Football players, providing an insight into the special demands of the elite athlete. He completed his training in the Hand Unit at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, renowned for the pioneering work performed upon the World War II fighter pilots (the Guinea Pig club).
Mr Dunnet was one of the first surgeons to introduce the arthroscopic assisted hamstring anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) into East Kent, in 1999. He published on ACL reconstruction and more recently on patello femoral instability. His current research interest is in refining ACL reconstruction with an "All Inside" technique to optimise the use of a patient's hamstring graft (allograft).

Explained everything well at clinic appointment. Pre op as in patient was very reassuring Good to see him immediately post op for him to say op had been straight forward

Mr Dunnet carried out my operation which I felt was a success as my discomfort levels now were virtually non existent .

Mr Dunnett carried out my procedure in the most professional way. Everything was fully explained and confirmed with me prior to surgery. The surgery was completed speedily with complete care and attention.
