Mr Naqui is an experienced and respected Consultant Hand, Wrist and Upper Limb Surgeon. As one of the leading experts in his field, he divides his time between surgery, academia and educating the next generation of doctors.
Mr Naqui has a super-specialist interest in injuries of the hand and wrist, wrist pain, arthritis and wrist arthroscopy. He sees patients from a range of backgrounds in NHS and private practice but regularly works with elite sportsmen and women from cricket, rugby league, boxing, cycling, UFC, climbing, tennis and football.
In his NHS practice, Mr Naqui, works at Salford Royal Hospital Foundation Trust (Hope Hospital) and is the Tutor and Lead for Clinical Governance and Patient Safety in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Academically, Mr Naqui is an examiner for both the British and the European Board Hand Diploma, the founder of the ‘BSSH Masterclasses in Hand Surgery' and the SM Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery. During his training, Mr Naqui completed a Master's degree in Orthopaedic Engineering, fellowships at the Wrightington Hospital and Harvard University and has won numerous awards in the UK and internationally. His research into wrist ligament injury led him to be awarded the first ever ‘Master of Hand Surgery' award from the BSSH and University of Manchester.
In his position, Mr Naqui sees some of the most complex hand and wrist injuries. He is passionate about improving the lives of his patients through patient-centre care and world leading surgical techniques.
