I am writing to express my thanks for the care I received during my recent stay on Sarah Ward. I was admitted on 7 March 2013 for a total hip replacement. Everyone encountered from the moment of arrival to my departure six days later on 13 march showed me nothing but courtesy and attention and I experienced the most excellent standards of pre and post operative care. Thank you once again for making a rather anxious time far more bearable to me.

I cannot thank you enough for literally giving me my life back! I had been in constant pain for four yeas. I was in despair, everything I had tried had been useless and even strong pain killers made no difference. The total hip replacement you carried out on the 3rd April, has been a near miraculous success. I am walking freely and easily, without a limp for the first time in four years and i have now got total mobility. I have come off all pain killers. The replacement hip appears to have relieved the sciatica and I am hoping that now I am walking totally upright and balance that this will be the relief that was needed. You were warm humourous and relaxed and explained everything that was going on. All of these things inspire confidence in the patient and makes them feel that tey matter to you and that you are really going to help them. This goes a long way towards achieving a satisfactory outcome and a good recovery. Your secretary too was always extremely helpful and so nice to deal with.

You are o nich and easy to talk to and so nice the way you explained everything and made me feel comfortable in every way. I feel like a new person. Since my op you've given me back my life and I'm so grateful to you for that. I laugh at the we had these little banters which was funny, I'm so luck to have had you for my surgeon as I know you're very well liked by staff and other people I've spoken to. I feel a very happy bunny. I was so happy when you discharged me on the 15th January. Also, my family thank you so much. I'm so lucky I have a great family all very grateful to you. My daughter sends her best regards and I wish you all of the same.

I am just writing to say thank to you and your team for the care compassion professionalism and the surgical skill you have shown me over the last 12 months. From my perspective the surgery has been a great success. I can't thank you enough for this. Not only can I now walk much further than I was able to before the operation, with all the old knee pain gone, I also have had my height and posture restored; two things I never imagined would happen. I was very impressed by the way all the staff involved specialist nurse, amissions, surgical team, nurses, physiotherapy and occupational health worked together as an integrated whole. It gave me great confidence un you all and reduced the stress I was feeling to a negligible level.

From the first consultation right through to the check ups following my operation, I felt I was in totally safe hands. Mr Shah explained the procedure and recovery plan to me in detail. Both before and after the operation, I could always contact him through his highly efficient PA Aamira and responses were always extremely prompt. Mr Shah is personal with a great manner and very motivating - I was determined to be one of his many successes and have a really swift recovery. Had I not had the operation, I would have been unable to set up my dog care business in early January 2020, so in many ways the operation has allowed me to fulfil my dream of working with and caring for dogs! Would highly recommend.
