About

Ms Ranjit Sandhu is a Consultant Opthalmic Surgeon with a specialist interest in cataract surgery, medical retinal problems and uveitis. Her postgraduate ophthalmic training was undertaken at King’s College Hospital and Addenbrooke’s Hospital where she developed an expertise in complex cataract surgery in diabetes and uveitis. Ms Sandhu obtained her posgraduate doctorate degree at the University of London in assessing ocular blood flow in retinal disease before embarking on a Fellowship in Medical Retina and Uveitis at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Ms Randhu specialises in cataract surgery without the need for glasses and has been involved in organising a randomised controlled clinical trial comparing varying types of lenses. She has also been a sub-investigator for the international GENEVA Study Group for the use of implants for central and branch retinal vein occlusions. She continually evaluates emerging, evidence-based novel treatment therapies for retinal disease and aspires to achieve the best results for her patients.

Ms Randhu ensures her patients have access to the latest intravitreal therapies for a wide spectrum of retinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions.

Ms Randhu has presented at both national and international conferences and published papers in peer reviewed academic journals. She has also co-authored a chapter on Ocular Disease in an Optometry textbook.

- Very little waiting - Staff seems to know what they are doing - It is good that we get to see a consultant grade rather then a registrar!!
