Dr Shahla Ahmed graduated in 1987 from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1987. Dr Shahla's experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology is vast as she then went on to further train in several hospitals, including Nottingham City hospital, the National University Hospital in Singapore and St. Mary's Hospital. Dr Shahla also completed a thesis studying the effects of HIV on the cervix at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine.
Dr Shahla then became a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St Mary's Hospital in 2007. She specializes in Gynaecological ultrasound and colposcopy and has a special interest in managing women with problems during menopause and in early pregnancy such as ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages, and abnormal smear tests.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr.Shahla is the undergraduate lead for obstetrics and gynaecology at Imperial College London. Her NHS practise is based at St. Mary's Hospital, where is also practices privately in the Lindo Wing.
