Professor Bill Ribbans is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon. His main sub-speciality interests are in Knee, Foot and Ankle and Sports Injuries although he sees patients with a whole range of Orthopaedic problems. He trained at the Royal Free Hospital, London from 1973-1980 and continued to Fellowships at Sheffield and Harvard University. He was a Senior Registrar on the Middlesex-Royal National Orthopaedic rotation and a Consultant at the Royal Free (1991-1996) and Northampton General Hospitals (1996-2012). He currently works in a full-time private practice at The County Clinic in Northampton whilst also working as a Professor of Sports Medicine at the University of Northampton, where he lectures regularly, both at home and abroad. Professor Ribbans has also been Honorary Orthopaedic Surgeon to the English National Ballet for over 20 years, and additionally acts as an advisor to UK Athletics and is Chief Medical Officer to Northants CCC.
