Professor Andrea Frilling is Professor of Surgery and Chair in Endocrine Surgery at Imperial College, London and she also sees patients privately, including at The Princess Grace Hospital and The Wellington Hospital.
She specialises in endocrine surgery, hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery, and oncologic abdominal surgery. At Imperial, she has created an interdisciplinary centre of excellence for management of neuroendocrine tumours accredited by the European Neuroendocrine Tumours Society (ENETS) with am emphasis on early diagnosis, multimodal treatment and translational research.She also has a strong interest in clinical research and has conducted several studies on treatment of neuroendocrine liver metastases, while working towards implementation of targeted treatment options for those with advanced stages of neuroendocrine disease.
Professor Frilling is the primary investigator in several clinical trials, and is the reviewer for several leading scientific journals, including the British Journal of Surgery. She has received numerous awards, such as the Von Langenbeck Prize, the most prestigious award of the German Surgical Society, the International Award for Excellence in Published Clinical Research, and the Eminent Scientist of the Year Award.
