Hani Gabra is Professor of Medical Oncology at Imperial College London, based at its Hammersmith Campus. His clinical work in conducted at a number of sites including the Hammersmith Hospital and the Queen Charlotte Hospital for Women. He specialises in gynaecological and upper gastrointestinal cancers.
After studying medicine at the University of Glasgow, he completed his MSc in Clinical Oncology and a PhD in Molecular Oncology at the University of Edinburgh. He then went on to complete specialist training in Cancer Medicine and was a Clinical Scientist and Consultant Medical Oncologist at the CRUK Edinburgh Medical Oncology Unit from 1998-2003. He then moved to London to take up his post at Imperial College.
Professor Gabra is actively involved in clinical research in ovarian cancer and tumour suppressor genes. He is Director of the Ovarian Cancer Action (HHMT) research Unit, a core funded research unit based at Imperial College London. He is also Chief of Service of the West London Gynaecological Cancer Centre and Head of the Section of Molecular Therapeutics in the Department of Oncology at Imperial College.
