I am Professor of Medicine at Imperial College London and Honorary Consultant Physician at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust based at the Hammersmith Hospital.
My main specialist interests are lupus nephritis and pregnancy (planning and medical management) in women with kidney disease - I'm considered a world leader in both areas. I'm at the Chief Investigator in a multicentre randomised controlled trial evaluating a steroid avoiding regimen in lupus nephritis. I was the founding National Director of the National Renal disease in Pregnancy Rare Disease Group.
I also have expertise in all forms of glomerulonephritis, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and acute kidney impairment. I have a long standing interest in kidney disease in people from BME communities.
