Professor Pauline Dowd has been a Consultant Dermatologist since 1983, and is Professor of Dermatology at University College Hospital Medical School, London.

She works at The Lister Clinic and Sydney Street Outpatients and Diagnostic Centre in London.

She has major interests in vulval diseases of the skin and connective tissue diseases into which she has undertaken a great deal of research, both in terms of basic disease processes and treatment. She also undertakes general dermatology and mole monitoring.

Previously she conducted research into the causation and treatment of acne; and the parthenogenesis of psoriasis, and has extensive experience in its management.
