Professor Raj Kapoor is a Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Neurology.
Professor Kapoor graduated from in 1981 from Oxford University with first class Honours. He then went on to complete his postgraduate medical training in London at the Hammersmith, Brompton and National Heart Hospitals.
Professor Kapoor then chose to specialize in neurology and did research on the neurobiology of brain function at New York University Medical Center and in the University Laboratory of Physiology in Oxford, where he was Junior Research Fellow at Pembroke College. Following this Professor Kapoor then took his neurological training at University College London Hospitals and the National Hospital, where he was appointed Consultant Neurologist in 1994.
Professor Kapoor has published over 80 articles, reviews and book chapters on neurological conditions, and especially on the basis and management of multiple sclerosis. He has also featured in national newspapers, radio programs and on television. He is a renowned expert in this field, regularly lecturing on his work at conferences in Britain, Europe and North America.
