Professor Sarah O'Dwyer is an experienced general surgeon with a special interest in colorectal diseases and promotes screening for early detection of pre-cancerous polyps and bowel cancer, in parallel with evaluation of cancer risk and family cancer syndromes. She has an international reputation in the management of peritoneal tumours and is Lead Clinician for one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP).

Professor O'Dwyer has established a pelvic surgical service, comprising of colorectal, urology, gynaecology and plastic reconstructive surgery, working collaboratively in partnership with other departments to offer a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to patient care, aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
