Professor Shakeel Saeed is a Consultant ENT and Skull Base Surgeon based in London, UK. Following his graduation from Guy’s and King’s College, London he has been a consultant ENT and skull base surgeon at both Manchester Royal Infirmary and Hope Hospitals. He has been awarded international recognition through a fellowship in Otology Research in San Francisco, USA, where he studied cochlear nerve growth factor receptors, and was also was a Fellow in Neurotology and Skull base surgery at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

In 2002 he was awarded the Gold Medal for his doctorate thesis from the University of Manchester after publishing his research work studying the molecular genetics of otosclerosis.


With over 10 years’ experience he now holds honorary appointments at King’s College Hospital, University College Hospital, Guy’s Hospital and St George’s Hospital, London.


He has a specialist interest in Neurotology, balance disorders, skull base surgery and cochlear implantation and is highly experienced in lateral skull base surgery and implantation otology. Currently he holds over £1.5 Million in research grants towards his active ontological research. He is able to consult on a wide range of range of balance disorders and vertigo including benign positional vertigo, Meniere's disease, as well as complex balance and hearing problems. 

He is the current President of the British Society of Academics in Otorhinolaryngology and on the council of the British Association of Otolaryngologists – Head and Neck Surgeons. 

In his personal time Professor Saeed enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and is a loyal Manchester City Football Club fan.
