Professor Kochhar has been a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon since 2006, with special interest in shoulder, elbow, upper limb surgery. Recognised as the only shoulder surgeon in Tatler Magazine's Best Surgeons Guide 2013/14, Professor Kochhar's practice is based around the principle that an early accurate diagnosis and prompt specialist treatment will lead to a faster recovery and return to work. Prof Kochhar has a commitment to best practice for all his patients. He uses only the best and latest techniques and he is an expert in keyhole surgery and minimally invasive procedures to ensure that his patients have the best possible outcome from their treatment. He works with elite sports people and has a special interest in sports science, strength and conditioning.
Professor Kochhar completed his specialist training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and then worked with some of the best shoulder surgeons in the world, including fellowship training in New York and the world-renowned Alps Surgery Institute in France.
As well as keeping up-to-date with the latest and most effective forms of treatment for shoulder and upper limb conditions, he regularly lectures both nationally and internationally at leading shoulder conferences and training courses and continues to teach the latest techniques to trainees and fellow Consultants from around the country and internationally. Furthermore he is proud to work with the Faculty of Sports Science at the University of Greenwich as a Visiting Professor. He is also regularly featured in the Daily Mail and Evening Standard newspapersand has published numerous papers.
