About

Professor Ayliffe is currently working as Consultant Ophthalmologist at The Lister Hospital in London. He graduated with a first in Immunology at Imperial College London and completed his medical degree at St. Bartholomew's Hospital London. 

He specialises in inflammatory eye diseases and corneal and cataract surgery. Initially, he worked as a registrar post at Oxford, before training in clinical ophthalmology in Bristol, Manchester and Harvard. Professor Ayliffe has developed a local and tertiary referral service for cornea, uveitis and inflammatory eye disease. Outside of his work as a clinician and teacher, he continues to carry out research into the prevention of blindness.
